Public info session - KDT JU Work Programme 2023:
The major transformations of the automotive industry, in particular towards software-defined vehicles (SDV), are challenging the competitiveness and sovereignty of the EU automotive industry. The European Commission is promoting a pre-competitive collaboration among European actors on the non-differentiating elements of the vehicle software stack between electronic hardware and applications. An open common platform would reduce costs and complexity of software development and ensure a level playing field for automotive hardware and data-driven cloud-edge applications.
This public, online information session will allow participants to learn about:
- The current state of play of discussions on an initiative for an open European SDV platform, based on a Concept Paper.
- The related open calls under the Key Digital Technologies Joint Undertaking (KDT JU) supporting the initiative, i.e. a research and innovation action focusing on the hardware abstraction layer for a European SDV platform[1], and a coordination and support action to support the platform[2].
The session will include a Q&A session. Participants will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas on the call and look for potential partners. Pitches for possible proposals should be 5 min. long maximum. Presentations of companies/organisations interested in joining a consortium should be 1 min. long. Participants interested in making a pitch or presenting their organisation should register by 28 February 2023. For further information, please contact Luciano.Gaudio@kdt-ju.europa.eu
