The Official Journal of the EU published the “Council Regulation (EU) 2021/2085 of 19 November 2021 establishing the Joint Undertakings under Horizon Europe”: ECSEL JU now officially becomes the Key Digital Technologies Joint Undertaking.
Executive Director of ECSEL JU, and now of KDT JU, Bert De Colvenaer: “With the publication of the Single Basic Act today, the Key Digital Technologies Joint Undertaking (KDT JU) takes a jumpstart. Integrating the legacy of the ECSEL JU, KDT JU’s ambitions are higher, faster and smarter. With all partners contributions, the total R&I project volume will exceed 7 B€; operational synergies with other instruments with seal the announced close ties with, and expectations from, the KDT JU. The overall KDT JU scope will cover the ECS value chain and include more software and silicon photonics. I’m particular happy with ‘Key’ in the name. Let’s now all work together to realise its ambitions. “
In addition to running an important new RD&I programme on electronics technologies, KDT will continue to support the ongoing ECSEL JU projects.
